Ticket Usage - Marketing Tip
Event tickets come in two forms, promotional or financial. As promotional tools they remind the recipient of the date time and place of the show. Always put a dollar value on your tickets. Tickets are a financial tool they are of value. Even if sales are sparse. At a minimum their value is in barter for goods, services and goodwill. Do not under-value your tickets. They can be your key to filling seats if they are handled wisely. With tickets to large venue events selling for $70 and up. You are establsihing a value to the show and performers with patrons, nearby businesses, sponsors and your venue.

Ticket strategies include giving them away to venue patrons. Offering them in packages to sponsors, developing a ticket broker sales system with nearby businesess. Sell them in advance, sell them at the door. In all cases emphasize the cost of bringing this talent to the venue enhancing the value of the tickets. Printed tickets serve as reminders and can be passed out by the waitstaff (potentially increasing their tips), sold at the checkout counter, sold by neighboring businesses (cut them in on a percent) or tables of tickets sold to local businesses depending on financial arrangements. Tickets are a major key to increasing profits and the audience.

Table cards or table tents are another high impact low investment tool. Allow up to 30-days advance marketing to bring in your audience. Waitstaff should be involved in mentioning the show to all customers.

If the club has televisions, many sports bars do. You may want to consider a 60-second video commercial to be played in rotation at the venue.
