Poster Usage - Marketing Tip
Event posters displayed 3-4 weeks in advance of your show maybe one of your more effective marketing tools because it informs patrons of the venue that you are coming. The venues existing customers are your #1 potential market for the upcoming show because they already like the venue and are most easily pursuaded to return for the special show. Poster placement should ideally be in each restroom and at the checkout counter, bar or other high traffic location. You need 4-20 posters per event.

Posters can also be product. When signed by the artists they make valuable keepsakes for the artists, venue and fans by commemorating the event. Consider the value of a wall of limited edition signed posters. Never underestimate the impact or value of autographed posters. Raffle them, sell them or present them to sponsors.

Table cards or table tents are another high impact low investment tool. Allow up to 30-days advance marketing to bring in your audience. Waitstaff should be involved in mentioning the show to all customers.

Printed tickets serve as reminders and can be passed out by the waitstaff (potentially increasing their tips), sold at the checkout counter, sold by neighboring businesses (cut them in on a percent) or tables of tickets sold to local businesses depending on financial arrangements. Tickets are a major key to increasing profits and the audience.

If the club has televisions, many sports bars do. You may want to consider a 60-second video commercial to be played in rotation at the venue.
